The City of Brownsville Parks and Recreation Department has created a unique place for the cultural, visual, and performing arts. The Urban Center at Gonzalez Park is dedicated to bringing a broad spectrum of performing and visual artists and diverse audiences together to enrich the cultural life of the community. The center was established to provide the opportunity for adults and youth to improve the quality of their lives by learning to explore and develop their artistic potential and share in the vital cultural currents of our community.
